Jump logic in a survey

Jump logic helps in segmenting the target audience and changing questions based on answer of the current question. You can add Jump logic to -

  • Questions - You can route the user to jump to a specific question if he/she encounters a particular question.
  • Response options - You can also route the user by conditional branching which lets you jump respondents to a specific questions, based on their answer to a previous close-ended question

At any point in time, you can refer to the graph to take note of the survey route you have created. Click on the edit button of your survey and then click on view logic

Pulse survey: A sample demonstrating the jump-logic use case

Survey to check how many employees are feeling Great, Good or not well and ask a follow up question based on their previous answer.

Steps to do the same with jump logic are listed below -

  • Add all the questions you intend to ask in the survey (irrespective of the branching)
  • Hover over the question you want to apply jump logic on. Click on the Jump-logic icon (double arrowed) - as shown. You can route the survey in a way that it can jump to another question just after a particular question or on the basis of specific responses.
  • For example in the question - How are you feeling today? next question would depend on the user response, i.e. - Great,Good or Not Well
  • If answered Great, the survey would ask the next question to know about What makes you day great. Else, if answered Good, Not Well, it would go ahead to ask further questions mapped with the jump logic and so on.
